I was prepared to write a horrible review on this product...

  • Summary: I received this Canon lens in a plain white box, which concerned me for I imagined that it was a refurbished lens; and, the fact that I did not receive the Cleaning Kit that was clearly in the description of the sellers product. I sent an email listing my concerns to the vendor, and imagined that I would have to return the product.

Perfect for what I need

Michael Ellis, Amazon

  • Summary: My new Canon Rebel SL1 was a Christmas gift and it came without a len kit. I checked on line for a recommeded upgrade from the starter kit and found the EF-S 18-135mm and it gives me such a great range of photos to take from close up to zoom in on large landscaping photos. Very clear and focused pictures. I'm a newbie with SLR cameras but very happy with this lens.

Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens

Adorama

  • Excerpt: i'm pretty much an amateur user but like to take a lot of pictures. I have a Canon T4i. Have used a number of lenses in the past and find it a hassle to be constantly changing lenses. This gives me about the most versatility I could want. The focus is very fast and quiet. Have taken a few movies and seems to work very well. No problems at all so far. Arrived quickly and price was OK. Accessories work as expected.
  • Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight

Great Lens!

  • Summary: I recently took this lens to Six Flags for a family vacation. That was the only lens I needed! Exactly what I bought it for. If you are like me and try to change lenses in the middle of the park, you know how frustrating it it to try and take a shot and realize you do not have enough zoom, or enough wide angle for your shot. Besides, carrying an extra lens for those occasions can become a burden after a while.

My Favorite Canon Lens

Adorama
26 November 2013
  • Excerpt: I have seven Canon lenses and this is my favorite. 18 - 135 covers 95% of my photography. I also have the 18 - 200 but prefer the 18 - 135 for the lighter weight. In situations where 135 is not as much zoom as I'd like, I simply crop the photo to get the area I wanted to zoom in on. With an 18 megapixel T4i I can crop and expand a surprisingly small area and still have amazing quality in the finished photo. I travel a LOT, and this camera and lens go with me everywhere.
  • Pros: Fast auto-focus, Superior build quality, Super-sharp images

Good, basic, walkaround lens

MattDoc, Amazon

  • Summary: I've been shooting with Canon for over 20 years and have used a lot of different lenses. I bought this one for my wife when she got her Rebel T1i. This is definitely a step up from the "kit" lenses that Canon bundles with their entry-level DSLRs. The 18-135 focal range is great range for someone who doesn't want to carry and change out extra lenses. The fact that it has IS is a huge bonus. We rarely have to use a flash thanks to that.
