Summary: Cheap starter lens works real good for what I been using it for. It's really 75-300mm. I like using it better then the 55mm lens that came with the camera I bought. It's cheaper then the IS lens, but for what I'm using it for it works just fine.
Summary: Great lens to extend the range of photographs that can be taken. Can I allow for any tax that is due on the sale of this item is paid to the UK Government rather than some off shore country Thank You
Summary: Be aware that with this lens you cannot really take panorama type shots, and take a step or two back from some subjects to get them in. If however you want a lens to get you much 'closer' to a subject then this will do the job. Not too sure about technical performance.
Summary: I bought this lens as a cheap lens to 'tide me over' until I could afford a 'better' lens. At this stage I am so impressed with this lens that I am thinking of saving my money, and not upgrading. The pictures are sharp and clear with very little need for post processing. The only reason for an upgrade would be to get lower F stops for action shots (which I am presently not doing, I am using this lens for zoomed in shots of my wife's orchids).
Summary: I bought this lens about a month or so ago, and I have to say that I'm very impressed. I've had a Canon 450D for about a year or so, and I'm relatively new to the world of DSLR photography. I was looking for a good quality, entry-level zoom lens and the Canon EF 90-300mm fits those criteria exactly. The lens fits nicely into my LowePro bag, and travels with me whenever I take the camera out.
Summary: I have had this lens for a few days now and although I haven't had chance to try it in every situation it is showing me what a great piece of kit it is. It is too heavy to replace the 18-55mm kit lens as my normal lens but it is very close to it.
Summary: I bought this lens for my canon 400d and it gives very sharp photos indoor and out, i've taken flash photos indoor of a catwalk show on full zoom (480mm) on 400d handheld and they are exellent, i've found the auto focus to be very good too, for the money i don't think you can get a better zoom lens, optically its far better than the 18-55 kit lens
