Excerpt: I really love this lens. It was my first purchased lens and is an excellent tool. I highly recommend it. My only gripe is the strong Chromatic Aberration present in areas of high contrast which is easily removed by stopping down. Shooting wide open produces an excellent Bokeh. I find my images sharp when I take the time to carefully focus to where I want. This lens is highly versatile and I look forward to using it more.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I just got this lens last week and i'm already in love! Just had an engagement photo session with it today but I can't wait to shoot some video with it. It's been super sharp with anything I shoot. Even at 1.8 it's sharp as a tack. Very impressive lens. Amazing bokeh as well. Next the the nifty 50 (50 f/1.8) i'd say this is Canon's 2nd best bargain lens!
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Sharp, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I bought this lens for environmental portraits in journalism assignments and family gatherings. The quality is very good. I wish I could have purchased the "L" series prime lens at f/1.2, but budgetary considerations weighed against it. This was a great compromise.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Excerpt: I bought this lens on the recommendation of my photography teacher to take pictures at music venues with low lighting. I'm just starting out and am not ready to invest in expensive equipment yet. The first time I used this lens was at the Andrew Bird concert in Central Park. I was in the first row behind the pit and was able to get amazing shots with this lens.
