Wonderful except for a horrible lens cap.

Summary: I just got this lens this evening and love it. Why the 3 star? The lens cap does not stay on and I am an avid hiker. So what do I do? If I hike with no lens cover, I expose a very fragile lens. If I try to keep it on, I am sure to lose it. Canon, I have a closet of wonderful L lenses. Every aspect of them is well crafted. I am very disappointed with the lens cap issue which has been mentioned by many of the reviewers. You need to fix it and send us working lens caps.
Nothing special compared to the Pentax 10-17mm fisheye zoom.

Summary: I know that many Canon users are very loyal, so I am somewhat nervous writing this review. But I do want to put my thoughts on this lens down. I'm a slr/dslr user and have owned various brands. My history is Canon EOS 500, Canon D350, Sony A330, Pentax K-X, Pentax K-5. I have the Pentax 10-17mm fisheye zoom and when one of my friends with too much money bought the Canon 8-15mm fisheye, we went out one afternoon and swopped cameras and lenses to try them out.
