Excerpt: I have been waiting for this lens all of my career. As a professional photographer for decades I wanted a lens as sharp as my 70-200 2.8, but lighter. Much lighter. With the new cameras and improved ISO sensitivity it meets all of my needs within that focal length range.
Excerpt: This lens is the walk around lens for our 7D. It gives good range. We have also use it for some micro work with excellent sharpness. It is a good overall lens. The only possible negative is its length. With the hood on it is longer than I would like.
Excerpt: This lens is truly one of the best pieces of glass that Canon has ever made. I won't spend time going into elaborate detail that can be found in other reviews, but here is how and why I bought this and why you should too. I knew I wanted one of Canon's 70-200mm, but I couldn't decide if I wanted to spend the extra $ on the f2.8.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I take a lot of photos of my nieces and nephews during their sporting events and this lens has really enabled me to take pictures almost on the move. I'll know more in a few more games, but its a terrific upgrade from what I was using. The pictures are clear and concise...this has been an awesome addition for action photos primarily. I would definitely recommend this lens to a friend.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction
