  • Excerpt: I am the team photographer for a Chicago Cubs minor league affliate baseball team in Myrtle Beach SC. The 2.8 f stop and the high iso settings on my Canon 70d allows me sharp photos into the late night innings

Perfect for Sports, Especially in Low Ligh

  • Excerpt: I used this lens for gymnastics meets where speed is needed to capture images even at 6400 or 8000 ISO. The f/2.8 allows this for me. Really pleased and don't need the IS L II model of this lens for what I'm shooting at 1/1250 or faster.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction

  • Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

  • Excerpt: I laugh when I hear comments like you have to have the IS version of this lens. With todays high ISO performance with virtually all DSLR's, I.S. just not needed. I would recommend this lens to anyone who is serious about photography and make sure you find the light.
