All that and a bag of chips

  • Excerpt: Canon has bossed it again. I'm a full time wedding , commercial and portrait photographer. The 70-200 2.8L 2 is a beast. The improved IS and optics are steller. The DOF on this lens is beautiful. All other lenses in this category pale in comparison. If your looking to change your game- this is the next step.
  • Pros: Quality Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

best zoom len ever

T883H, Adorama

  • Excerpt: I'm an amateur photographer using this len for family portrait and kids' school activities. The focus is so fast and the image is so sharp, although I don't have the stable arms. Thanks to the 4 stops IS, it helps me create many sharp images. The only thing I don't like about this len is the tripod ring. It gets in the way when mounted on the tripod. It kinds of awkward for me to use the zoom ring when mounting on the tripod. Other than that it is awesome len.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Quality Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

Some guy in Vegas, Adorama

  • Excerpt: Wow, just wow! I've been shooting the 70-200 mm lens now for about 2 weeks. The one thing that really stands out is how effortless it is to get a beautiful rich bokeh when shooting. What sets it apart from all my other red ring lenses is the field of depth is truly preserved even as the background is blurred out. The 70-200mm lens really is a very different lens and now I can see why it's a go to choice for portrait photography.

Superb in Every Way!

Greg, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: My primary purpose for purchasing this lens was for its touted sharpness. This lens is everything that I expected. I bought it to replace the Canon 100-400L. Sharpness and low light performance are exactly what I had hoped for and was desperately missing from the 100-400L. I am shooting on a 7D and am extremely happy with the results.
  • Pros: Quality Construction, Very Sharp

Amazing Lens

  • Excerpt: This is by far my favorite lens and I use it whenever practical. I absolutely love this lens! The picture quality is phenomenal. It's built like a tank, very durable, well constructed, but heavy. That's the only drawback...outside of it's price. It's the first professional quality lens I've owned so I wasn't used to the weight at first. I have a Canon 70D and this lens works really well with that camera.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Great Low Light, Quality Construction, Sharp Images
  • Cons: Heavy
