  • Excerpt: I had the old version of this piece of glass. Same weight I should say. I noticed a more saturated pictures (non edited without a polarizer) compared to my old one. Slow focus sometimes. The picture has the +5 vibrance and +15 saturation.
  • Pros: Quality Construction

  • Excerpt: Bought this lens a couple of years ago I use this lens on a Canon 5D Mark III. This lens is great for portraits and sports photos. This lens provides razor sharp photos when used properly. The f2.8 throughout the 70 to 200 focal range is outstanding.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Great Bokeh, Great in low light, Image Stablity, Improves Performance, Quality Construction, Tripod Collar Included, Weather Sealed

  • Excerpt: I use this mostly for shooting professional and collegiate sports and it does a good job. The previous generation was mediocre to poor, especially in the autofocus department. This lens is much better, though still nowhere near as good as most of my primes.

  • Excerpt: It is new so of course it is my favorite lens. Maybe over time that will change. I must admit that I have not used it much. (Don't you hate when people write early reviews without using the product enough). I upgraded from the f/4 to this lens. I am using it on the original Canon 7D.

  • Excerpt: This is one of two new Canon lens. I love the picture quality, but the lens is very heavy. The reason for the 4 stars is because of the heavy lens.

  • Excerpt: The 2.8 aperture doesn't keep when you are focusing on something that is a lot further away. Also I do concert photos and I would have liked this lens to have more zoom. • Excerpt: This was my first L series lens purchase after having rented for a week. I am still getting used to the weight and getting to know the lens but love its capability for creating creamy backgrounds.
