Excerpt: I "upgraded" to this lens from a Canon 70-200 f4 IS. Obviously I expected it to be better. I'm a gear-head. It's more expensive, it's heavier, it's version II, it just had to be awesome! I got it, I loved it. Big and beautiful. After a couple of months eventually I took the time to tediously compare the two lenses side by side, taking shots on a tripod, IS OFF, running through the f-stops. My result: the 70-200 f4 IS lens comes out as a clear winner. I'm gutted.
Excerpt: They have lost me as a customer I bought a lens it took over one month to get credit back for lens which was over $2000 dollars I had to pay interest on purchase that i never received, I had to file complaint with Paypal to get them to give me credit back.
Excerpt: Ai Servo used on a canon body and focus just random. This is the third copy I got from b&h Photo. This is not quality. Many shots in my work ruined because of product that is bad. You will see in the example shots. I upload 2 pictures that were taken seconds apart. The shots would be amazing had the autofocus worked properly. This is on a 60d body with front protecter clear uv filter. Mind you the i and ii switch and yes I know how to use it.
Conclusion: I can't say much about this lens as the quality is nil. Of all the lenses I have used and owned, this is absolutely the WORST Q.C. I have ever seen in a lens at any price. It is full of dust particles, spots, small chunks of an unkown material stuck on the lens or lenses. I have used and owned the other major camera brands, etc and NONE have had or have the amount of junk inside the lens as this one, even lens that I have owned for over 30 yrs..
Summary: This was a terrible purchase, bought item and delivery was on time, however, the Lens within was not the correct one but the far cheaper one. Clearly the item had been placed in the wrong box by CANON as it was sealed. Had to order item from another business as required urgently and could not trust that other items were not the same.
Summary: I purchased this lens and when I tried to register with Canon, they advised that it was a 'grey' import and that it was probably for the Asian/Australian market and therefore would not be covered under warranty as it isn't a UK lens. When I told Rumsby Electronic about this they were in complete denial, even though I have several emails from Canon themselves stating this to be the case.
