Much Better Than Online Reviews Say It Is! Not Bad At All
8 September 2012
Summary: I was very apprehensive about buying this lens after reading numerous online reviews that had said all but its a piece of junk. I decided to try it because the price was to good to pass up. My first test shots with the lens were fantastic and had me wondering did I get the lens I had been reading about. I do a lot of portrait photography so I chanced it on a shoot and found the images to be more than acceptable based on the reviews.
Summary: Canon EF 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 II USM Autofocus Lightweight Compact Telephoto Zoom Lens - Grey Market For the price this lens is great.ive already shot over 300 pics and so far no complaints.would highly recommend lens,im new to digital slr and purchased a Canon Xt Rebel and being Married with children fit well into our budget.
Summary: You can't drop $200 and change on an entry level telephoto and expect it to be the most stunning piece of equipment you've ever laid eyes on. In that regard, I think the 55-200 does remarkably well. A bit of a learning curve involved, as it's not the fastest lens in the land. It performs very well for sporting events, especially in the day. Nighttime sports are a cinch to shoot as long as the field/stadium lights are above average.
Summary: Excellent lens very fast and gets you up close and personal. I really like the color quality as well as the quick AF functionality. Highly recommend for anyone who is wanting nice closeups pictures while shooting from a distance.
Summary: this is a nice neat compact lens ,quick and quiet on auto focus and excellent definition.Very slight softness at either extreme end of zoom but otherwise excellent.Obviously not in the same same as "L" lenses but as a good everyday budget lens ican thoroughly recommend this lens .Great value for money
