Stunning little lens!
18 October 2015
Excerpt: When I first picked up this lens, I felt wrong about the purchase....it felt old and heavy, loud and clunky...but after I started to actually open my mind up to the features available to this lens, I quickly fell in love with its quirky style and unique abilities!
Summary: I like the lens a lot, it does what I wanted it to do, more or less for the price. The focus ring is really loose, which I like as I do a lot of handheld and need quick easy adjustments as I move or the wind blows.
Outstanding value for a tack sharp lens across a wide range of stops.

Summary: used every day in our professional studio for commercial photography. Price is excellent. Image quality is tack sharp across a wider stop range than the Sigma 50mm macro. The Sigma goes 1:1 and is also tack sharp but not across as wide a stop range.
Summary: This is an ideal lens for my need and by my standards. My need is for a walk-around lens with macro capability and excellent optics. My standards are impeccable handling characteristics, obvious structural strength, proven durability and absolute precision.
Summary: I use this lens professionally everyday. It is a great lens. Light, fast, and the image quality it produces is on par with much more expensive glass. I was not surprised by that as it comes highly recommended from many of my peers but I think I was not sure it would be as good as it is.
Summary: I picked this lens up at an estate sale in a camera bag along with a metal 50 mm f1.8- for $25.00! Anyhow, if I knew how cool this one is I would have paid full price. Very good for close ups of stationary objects like flowers, plants, grape clusters, etc.
Summary: One of the first questions that came to mind was if this lens could be used professionally. The answer is yes. Optics is more than good enough for working photographers. If you don't believe me, go to Ken Rockwell's photography website and read up on this lens.
