Great for professional or amateur use.

Christopher Kimball, Amazon
12 October 2014
  • Summary: I use this lens professionally everyday. It is a great lens. Light, fast, and the image quality it produces is on par with much more expensive glass. I was not surprised by that as it comes highly recommended from many of my peers but I think I was not sure it would be as good as it is. As a MACRO lens, it produces a razor sharp depth of field at f/2.5 in close to an object. The bokeh is beautiful as well. If you need a fast, high quality MACRO lens, check this one out.

Excellent journeyman lens

kkrome25 "kkrome25", Amazon
12 September 2014
  • Summary: One of the first questions that came to mind was if this lens could be used professionally. The answer is yes. Optics is more than good enough for working photographers. If you don't believe me, go to Ken Rockwell's photography website and read up on this lens. Personal experience with this lens has shown me that it has very good bokeh. The magnification is only 1:2, but for what I used it for (botanicals), it's perfect, because I don't need to go microscopic.

Great Detail Lens for Weddings

Rachel Red Photography, B&H Photo
15 June 2014
  • Excerpt: I've had great success with this lens so far, especially for ring shots at weddings. It's accurate and tack sharp when used correctly and at a quarter of the price of the 100mm macro it's quite the bargain.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
