Summary: Overall, it will improve my photography. My main purpose is for wedding jewelry, and close-ups on newborn feet, hands, ears, noses, etc. I played around with it after I received it last night, and as many mentioned the automatic focus was very loud, and seemed clunky.
Excerpt: I bought this lens for use in my still life studio, intending to use it for subjects that fit within an area of between 2 and 5 square inches. I've been using an older Canon 100mm macro lens that has given excellent results.
Pros: Consistent Output, Lightweight, Low Cost, Very good Image Quality
Summary: Beautiful pictures with my Canon Rebel T3i. The only issue I have with it is that it creates a lot of noise with auto-focus, and often takes a long time to focus. It has a lot of difficulty with focusing at sharp angles and at close distances.
Excerpt: This is a great macro lens. Seems a little flimsy compared to my other Canon lenses but it gets the job done. I love it paired with a ring flash. Works well to get a glamorous look while shooting people and portraits and evenly lights subjects of macro work.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Excerpt: I purchased this lens for its great image quality and compact size. I meets or exceeds my expectations in both areas. My only complaint is the build quality. This lens is made with cheap fealing plastc and the focus ring is very poorly damped.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
