Love this lens!

  • Excerpt: I absolutely love this lens. It allows me to do exactly what I wanted to do with my DSLR from the beginning. I do not have a lot to compare it with other than my kit lens. The fixed length is something to get used to but it did not take me too long to adjust.
  • Pros: Easy To Use

  • Excerpt: so far I am liking the lens. Haven't got to use it as much as I want. Love that I can shoot at the 1.4 aperture but noticed focus is much better at a higher aperture
  • Pros: Durable, Lightweight

A disappointment

  • Excerpt: I bought this lens to use shooting weddings and for general news low-light shooting because it is; f/1.4, small, very light weight and I already had a lens hood that would fit. I purchased it along with the Canon 28mm f/1.8 and I already own the Canon 85mm f/1.8. With these three lenses, I could go ultra lightweight on the job with my two Mark4's, the Canon 270EXII flashes (totally awesome btw) and the 70-200 f/2.8 II (killer glass)Well, the 50mm was hopeless below...

  • Excerpt: On a full frame it's a great walk-around lens. On a crop factor, it's a great protrait lens. At the price there's really nothing not to like.

  • Excerpt: I currently use this product with a canon rebel T2i but bought it in the hopes of investing in a 70D soon. I had the 50mm 1.8, and decided to upgrade to the 50mm 1.4. The difference is there- and with a better quality camera, I'd likely notice it more, but it IS there. Looking forward to trying it out with a new camera. I use it mostly for child photography/portraits/newborns. One thing that's great- it lets in a lot more light it seems- much brighter at the same fstop.
  • Pros: Powerful Output
