What a Beast

  • Summary: An outstanding lens in my opinion. The speed of focus and image quality are hard to fault. It is also surprisingly comfortable to use hand held on moving targets but definitely better when mated to a monopod if the situation allows it. The only downside to this lens is the weight but that is hardly surprising given its capabilities. A day with it is a tiring exercise but the shots are definitely worth it.
  • Pros: Quick Focus, Sharp Focus, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

  • Summary: Great for birds, wildlife and sports. Carrying it around will put hair on your chest. The good: it is a glorious piece of optic technology worth the price. The bad: you have to buy it a new heavy-duty tripod and a specialized head so it is more expensive than the initial [$] plus outlay.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Sharp Focus, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy, Way heavy
