Compact - does the Job

  • Excerpt: Excellent as a walk-around lens for Mark II. Very satisfied with the performance and speed. Not quite as sharp as other "L" lens used but very good.Quality lens. Best part is that it is so light and non-obtrusive. Can carry it all day without fatigue. B+H has delivered perfectly once again.
  • Pros: Lightweight, Nice Bokeh

  • Excerpt: I bought this to pair with a Canon SL1 body for a light weight travel package. I have taken this lens out a few times and am getting very usable images. I find them slightly better than the 25mm pancake. I also find the quality slightly better than my nifty fifty.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh

Compact and sharp!

  • Excerpt: I bought this lens to have a compact short lens that will fit in my pocket for events that I am mostly shooting with a long lens but may want to grab a short lens for occasional use. It is also nice when I want to travl with something small and light, or to be inconspicuous while shooting.
  • Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight

  • Excerpt: I struggled with my decision on whether or not to purchase this lens or the cheap nifty fifty and I'm happy with my purchase in the end. The STM motor is a little bit different than what I'm used to but after getting use to it it's quite smooth and silent.
  • Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Stops At F28

Sweet Little Lens

  • Excerpt: I've only had this lens for a couple of weeks, but already I'm impressed with the quality and image quality it produces. I hadn't used a prime lens since my first 35 mm film camera many years ago. I've been using zoom lenses for the last 15 plus, and have gotten lazy.

Nice lens

  • Excerpt: I am still learning the ins and outs of Canon's EF 40mm f/2.8 STM lens, but, thus far I am quite pleased. I chose this standard lens because of its low profile, and it certainly is unobtrusive. Also, I've been pleased with its capacity at capturing portraits. I would recommend this lens.
  • Pros: Compact, Lightweight
  • Cons: Slow Focus
