Excerpt: This is my first prime lens. I am new to the world of DSLR photography [Canon T5i] and I am still learning. I use the 40mm mainly for stills of people. It is well constructed. The 40mm pancake lens takes sharp photos if you know what you are doing.
Pros: Durable, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Summary: I really like this lens. I have only had this short while so i cant comment on its durability but it seems sturdy. i bought this for two reasons. First I wanted a smaller alternative to the heavy lenses I own.
Excerpt: Excellent as a walk-around lens for Mark II. Very satisfied with the performance and speed. Not quite as sharp as other "L" lens used but very good.Quality lens. Best part is that it is so light and non-obtrusive. Can carry it all day without fatigue. B+H has delivered perfectly once again.
Excerpt: I bought this lens for travel and wanted light weight, decent speed, inconspicuous, and high quality. I keep it on my t2i and this lens fits the bill, and It just so happens that it is a great bargain to boot. Highly recommended.
Excerpt: I bought this to pair with a Canon SL1 body for a light weight travel package. I have taken this lens out a few times and am getting very usable images. I find them slightly better than the 25mm pancake. I also find the quality slightly better than my nifty fifty.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh
Excerpt: I bought this lens to have a compact short lens that will fit in my pocket for events that I am mostly shooting with a long lens but may want to grab a short lens for occasional use. It is also nice when I want to travl with something small and light, or to be inconspicuous while shooting.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Excerpt: I struggled with my decision on whether or not to purchase this lens or the cheap nifty fifty and I'm happy with my purchase in the end. The STM motor is a little bit different than what I'm used to but after getting use to it it's quite smooth and silent.
Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I've only had this lens for a couple of weeks, but already I'm impressed with the quality and image quality it produces. I hadn't used a prime lens since my first 35 mm film camera many years ago. I've been using zoom lenses for the last 15 plus, and have gotten lazy.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
