Excerpt: I am still learning the ins and outs of Canon's EF 40mm f/2.8 STM lens, but, thus far I am quite pleased. I chose this standard lens because of its low profile, and it certainly is unobtrusive. Also, I've been pleased with its capacity at capturing portraits. I would recommend this lens.
Excerpt: I purcahsed this lens to go with my Canon 6D for our trip to Disneyland CA. I wanted something light weight and easy to use in low light situations at night. This len did not disappoint one bit, sharp pictures and quick focus made this len fun to try new things with. At the cost, there is no reason not to have the 40mm STM in your bag at all times.
Excerpt: Very fast autofocus and great in low light. I use this lens with my Canon 100D/SL1 DSLR. It's supposed to be silent, but I still hear a high-pitched whine when the motor engages. All-in-all, I like the lens and look forward to some great low light footage. Sound isn't an issue because I use external mics anyway.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
Excerpt: Super compact lens. Sharp, quick enough focusing. Certainly not the fastest focusing lens I own, but more than good enough. Great on a full size DSLR, and great on the EOS-M with the adaptor. Nice to have a fast small lens for many common shooting situations.
Excerpt: Great little lens! Very light to carry (perfect for exploring a city without weighing yourself down) and super sharp. It's not perfect for a crop (probably 35mm would be better) and at 2.8 it's slower than I wish it was. But for $ it's a great buy and a great addition to a lens set. No regrets at all. Sturdy build quality too!
Pros: Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Cons: 28 Is A Little Slow, Not Very Wide On A Crop
Excerpt: This little darling has made my SLR suddenly quite portable. It doesn't zoom but my computer does that quite well. I like the photos I've taken so far, but have yet to see a major difference between it and my old kit lens. I gave it one less star because of this, but that may not be fair because I haven't sufficiently tested it yet.
Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
