Summary: I continue to find new uses for this lens. It lends a beautiful, artsy feel to your photography. Portraits, candid shots, and I even use it for interesting still life or detail-type shots. It's a very useful lens but also a fun lens to use!
Summary: I use this lens on a 5D primarily for urban scenes and close quarters work. For landscapes I find 35mm on full frame to be a more natural focal length. Construction is of a high standard as one would expect. Images are perfectly usable wide open with good center sharpness and commendable edge performance. For best performance stop down to f8-f13 and detail is good from corner to corner. Edge/corner sharpness with this prime is significantly better than with my 17-40.
Summary: I canNOT brag enough about this lens! It has a tack sharp focus, beatifully creamy bokeh, and is blissfully silent on AF. It's perfect when you're working in tight spaces when people are getting ready for weddings, and you can use it for more up-close portraits for a little more artsy feel.
Pros: Beautiful bokeh, Quick Focus, Sharp Focus, Strong Construction
Summary: This lens is amazing. It finds light your eyes cant even see. I've been using the 50mm 1.4 on a crop sensor and have found it a bit long indoors in smaller rooms, so I've been eyeing this 24mm for awhile and finally picked it up. I am kicking myself for not getting it sooner! Cant find a single thing I dont like about. Incredible sharpness, outstanding light capture in dark situations, and astounding depth of field. BUY IT.
Summary: This has become my bread and butter lens. It has a very fast and precise AF. Even with the included lens hood, it still is compact and light. Tack sharp performance make choosing the best pictures difficult. Yes it is expensive, but it is worth every penny.
