  • Excerpt: I am still adjusting to using within the studio and the chromatic abrasion along the edges. But other that that I am in love with this lens. It works great for my indoor shoots currently where my moving around space is limited.Love the new locking feature while not in use.
  • Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus
  • Cons: Heavy

Not as sharp as my primes

  • Excerpt: Compared to the 24-70 2.8L, this lens has better contrast and colors do appear richer. That was immediately obvious in comparing identical photos shot by the same camera with the same exposures within a minute of each other.
  • Pros: Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus
  • Cons: Blurry Focus

Great addition to my camera bag

  • Excerpt: I mainly shoot landscapes with a 17-40 and 70-200. This lens was the perfect addition to my camera bag, partially for landscapes, but more so for family and group photos. It replaces a 24-70 Tamron that did not match up well with a full frame sensor.

Great Lens

  • Excerpt: While not the most exciting lens it does what I need it to do. I only gave it four stars because of lack of I.S. The contrast is wonderful - I believe even better then my 70-200 2.8 IS II. It is also a sharp lens. Cant complain too much.

  • Excerpt: It really is an amazing lens with crystal clear optics throughout. It would have been nice to put IS on it but regardless, it's a great lens.

Excellent but Pricey

  • Excerpt: I own several Canon lenses and this one was to compliment the 35-70 focal range. All lenses are good but all pricey. All my camera equipment has been purchased through B&H who I find very reliable.

Yes it's sharp, but not THAT sharp

MinAZ, B&H Photo
27 June 2014
  • Excerpt: If this lens cost half as much as it does, I would have given it 5 stars. That pretty much sums up this lens in a nutshell. It's a good lens, but it isn't as sharp as say the 100mm f/2.8 Macro.
  • Pros: Durable
  • Cons: Blurry Focus
