Summary: Only my Canon 70-200L f/2.8 IS II is sharper! Clean and sharp corner to corner. Crazy color rendition! One of my most-used lenses. I do wish it had Image Stabilazition, other than that it's 5 stars every time!
Excerpt: Used this during a trip to Washington D.C. and it works well. No IS so you must keep it steady during night/slow shutter speed shots. I like the lock that keeps the lens from protruding when not being used. I thought it would be all metal but the plastic seems sturdy. I guess the weight savings are worth it...
Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lock At 24mm
Excerpt: This is an amazing lens and is the lens I use most of the time. It's a great lens for many situations. It's extremely well made as you'd expect of an "L" lens and works really well even on my Canon 70D (crop sensor) body. I love it.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I was watching this lens for a long time and the only thing holding me back was the price and lack of i,age stabilization. Given the rebate offered by Canon and my taking a chance, I just purchased this lens and have been very excited about photography ever since! I have watched a lot of user reviews and I do believe this lens will not be the best if you are shooting video, given the lack of IS (unless you are shooting with a tripod), but surprising, I am getting sweet...
Excerpt: This is a must have for every professional portrait photographer on the block. It is my go to lens for all photoshoots. This is such a sharp and beautiful lens. I know I will be getting quality when I put this on my body.
Excerpt: Having just upgraded from my Canon 18-200mm crop kit lens, it was painful to invest in both this lens and a 70-200 f2.8 to get roughly the same range. I thought my 70-200 would get a lot more action than this one, but a couple of recent weddings have proved me wrong, as the majority of my photos came using this lens.I love the focus accuracy, its sharpness, and the 2.8 for low-light conditions.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
