Canon 24-105mm f/4L
Reviewer: Ken Rockwell07 July 2007This is Canon's highest performance professional midrange zoom for film, full-frame and 1.3x digital cameras . The Canon 24-105mm f/4L has great optics and works extremely well. My biggest whine is that the zoom ring takes a lot of effort and that the wide end of the zoom range is cramped , making it difficult to set wide focal lengths precisely. It's silly to use this on a 1.6x sensor camera like the Rebels and 30D because 1.) you're paying a premium fo... Read more

This is an EF lens, casting an image circle large enough to cover a 24x36mm piece of film or the sensor in Canon's more expensive "full-frame" digital SLRs. The camera will work fine on a small-sensor body, but you will be carrying around more lens than you need and the focal length will be a "slighty-wide-to-telephoto" range. Read more

Canon EF 24-105mm L (5D)
Reviewer: Camera Labs30 December 2005- Overall 8

The lens did however have a rocky start, with early models suffering from an internal flare problem , forcing returns and delaying wider distribution. These issues seem to have been solved now though, and certainly the versions we've tested exhibited no problems in this regard. The EF 24-105mm performed well across its range, particularly in terms of corner sharpness at wide angle, while essentially matching our EF 85mm f1.8 prime in terms of resolving po... Read more

And the use for a particular focal length or focal length range varies, of course, depending on the Read more

The Canon 24-105mm F4 I.S. L lens is very good to use with the EOS 1D Mark III. profesional camera. I was able to it in a wedding shoot some time ago and was easy to use with the flash 580EX mark II when it came to zoom from 24 to 105mm. Good pictures with flash in the church with this lens. I like the Image Stabilizer to use because of the three stops and UD glass and fast USM motor. Manual focus during AF mode. The 24-105mm F4 I.S. L is good to use in taking photos ... Read more

It's been over two years that my trusted EF-S 17-85 mm took the role of the universal lens and has been only recently deemed inadequate. The changing event was my upgrade from a 8 MPx camera (20D) to a 10 MPx camera (E OS ... Read more

Great lens for general day to day use. Great zoom range, especially for full-frame camera. F4 is sufficient for most occasions (would be awesome if it's F2.8). A bit pricy though. Read more
