Great, Underrated lens!

Alexander, B&H Photo
31 March 2016
  • Excerpt: There are a lot of bad reviews about this lens. It does have it's flaws, but overall it is great wide angle lens for the price. I was in the market for as wide of a lens as I could find around the $500 price mark. And this what I took a risk after reading multiple bad reviews.

  • Excerpt: i personally shoot on a Canon 60D which is jot a full frame canera. The 20mm lets me get far back to pacture my surroundings without worring I may be missing something due to the crop sensor

Close up shots does not focus automatically. The only ...

George Papelian, Amazon
23 January 2016
  • Summary: Close up shots does not focus automatically. The only way it will work if I change it to manual. I am not sure if this is true for all this type of lenses.

Amazing, cheap lens that will shock you.

Bronco, Amazon
29 December 2015
  • Summary: What a little jewel! I ran into an online review saying I have to get a copy for my full frame camera. Apparently it has a problem with vignetting, but modern cameras including my 6D come with software that automatically corrects for it, so you can't tell.

Wonderful lens

  • Excerpt: Using it mostly for video. Wide field of view, no no visible distortion. The edges wrap around when you pan, but this looks nice.

Soft Edges

Nika, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: Extremely soft on edges, will return. Blow up image to 100% and you will see that edges are terrible. Used on Canon 5D MarkIII and tripod with cable release.

Decent lens as a back up.

Chauder, B&H Photo
18 September 2015
  • Excerpt: This lens is great as a wide and with an aperture going as low as 2.8 is amazing, however, when in low light and shooting at that low of an aperture, there will be a vignetting around your photos. Please be aware of that feature.

EF 20mm f/2.8 great buy!

David Guerrieri Photgraphy, B&H Photo
5 August 2015
  • Excerpt: I absolutely love this lense. It is just wide enough that it doesn't distort my image quality, yet is very versatile. I use it for landscape shots around NYC and have already printed multiple images.

A disappointment

AEK photographer, B&H Photo
5 May 2015
  • Excerpt: I must agree with many of the others: the lens has a good feel, good handling of perspective, but there's significant vignetting and soft focus, even when placed on a tripod with remote shutter. I returned it to B&H after one week (my kudos to B&H for their courteous handling of returns).

A disappointment

AEK photo, Adorama
3 May 2015
  • Excerpt: I bought it to use with my Canon 5D Mark III for street photography and the occasional landscape. Very true colors and little distortion (nice) but serious vignetting, especially noticeable in the landscape shots.
