I need help picking out a lens for my husband's anniversary gift. He is shooting high school sports photography (indoor & outdoor). Alot of the games are at night with poor lighting on the fields & basketball gyms are notoriously poorly lit. He has a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi. The lens that came with it is messed up...so he borrows his sister's. He has mainly been using the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM for the outdoor activities. He is now being asked to do outdoor portrait photography as well. OK, so he keeps saying he needs a wide angel lens with zoom and something that lets in more light. I am looking at the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Lens, but am not sure if this is right for his applications. What about the EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM or EF 17-40mm f/4L USM? Or something else completely? Any advise is appreciated!
Yeah, it seems fine but i will suggest Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens or Canon FD 35mm Wideangle lenses.
