  • Excerpt: Just got this lens. I will use it of all kinds of work, but it will be a great asset in my commercial work especially real estate photography. Just completed a shoot of 5 condo units on the beaches of South Walton County FL. Absolutely awesome lens. I was able to get "panoramic" views of small spaces, creating photographs with great appeal. Potential purchasors will feel they have been in the unit. No distortion at all if you get the shot set up correctly.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight

  • Excerpt: After a lifetime of photography, I am seldom surprised with exceptional quality equipment, but this amazes me. It is just plain better than good. With my full size sensors the wide , sharp view is very impressive and avoids the fish eye effect that I wish to avoid.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Expensive, Front Glass Easy Scratch

Killer lens.

  • Summary: Just got this last month. I've taken a few thousand shots with it so far in a multitude of scenarios. I mount it on a 5D Mark III. If your looking for really nice SUPER wide angle shots, this is what you need. It's more than perfect for architectural shots, especially those in close quarters where you need to grab everything in the room. With a full frame sensor it will take a subject in focus, 8 feet wide from only 2 feet away. Crazy.

Fantastic wide angle for interior

Super Wide Jeff, Adorama
17 July 2014
  • Excerpt: Fantastic lens for interior pictures. No noticeable barrel distortion, great image quality. I had been using a Nikon 14-24 but was getting frustrated spending time correcting the barrel distortion. The Canon 14/2.8L II doesn't need any correction for barrel distortion and it seems to be a little sharper than the Nikon. When taking multiple pictures for HDR the camera/lens can be left in AF.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Insignificant Distortion

as expected

Adorama

  • Excerpt: Performs as expected for an L series lens. The only real drawback for me is noticeable chromatic abberation, particularly around the perimeter of the image. More pronounced at f2.8 and f4.
  • Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Chromatic abberation, Price
