• Excerpt: I use this lens for portraits and for weddings. The bokeh is really beautiful and unique. I love that it is light-weight and the aperture is crazy wide for a lens this long.
 • Pros: Lightweight, Nice Bokeh

 • Excerpt: I'm using this lens for portraits and for weddings. Overall it's amazing, beautiful colors, bokeh and crisp!!
The only complaint I'd have is that it's slow to focus in low light. I had a wedding last weekend and it struggled focusing for the reception. But outdoors it's spot on and creates beautiful images!
 • Pros: Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
 • Cons: Poor in Low Light

Beautiful Glass

 • Excerpt: Based on reviews of this lens I decided to take the plunge and have not been disappointed with my decision.
I will use the lens primarily for indoor basketball and some reception (non-wedding) for which I am contracted.
So far I have found the lens to be exceptionally fast focusing even in dimly lite areas. Images are sharp at 2.0 and stunning at 4.
So far I have no complaints and believe it was money well-spent.
 • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction

Worth every penny

 • Excerpt: It's a great lens to start of your L lens collection if you're still not having a big budget. The sharpness is rivalled by few in Canon's lineup.

It's a tad difficult to focus manually cause of the narrow degree of the rotating focus ring though but otherwise excellent
 • Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
 • Cons: Low Turnability Of Focus
