Canon EF 135mm f/2.0 L USM Lens. If 135mm is the focal length you need, you will not be disappointed by the Canon EF 135mm f/2.0 L USM Lens. Read more
A lens of this nature is a reasonably specialised piece of kit. It’s speed, both light gathering and focussing, make it ideal for indoor sport and event work. It also scores highly if you want portraits with OOF backgrounds where the focal length is near perfect. So if you have the need for a lens of this type and can warrant the price, you will not be disappointed with the results. Read more
The Canon EF 135mm f/2 USM L is a superb lens with outstanding performance figures in all aspects except maybe vignetting at the max. aperture setting (f/2). The mechanical construction is up to pro standards and the AF is as fast as it gets in EOS land. All-in-all a lens that truly deserves the Canon L designation. Read more
Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM is a very solid lens with outstanding overall performance on both APS-C and full-frame cameras. Some vignetting with a full-frame body at wide open apertures and occasional purple fringing are things to be aware of here. Another point to consider is the price - at US$900 this is not the most expensive prime lens on the market but is not a bargain either. If you're looking for a fast telephoto and are not willing to sacrifice in lens build quality,... Read more
This is the best lens I own (I also have a 28/1.8 and a 50/1.4 for my EOS system, a 15/4.5 Voigtlander and a medium format system), and probably the one I use most. It's very fast for it's focal length, f/2, and the great thing is that its very sharp even wide open. I have no hesitation at all to use it wide open. The rendition of very fine detail is improved if you stop down to f/4, and there is also very slight vignetting wide open, but that's it. Stopping down beyond... Read more
Beautiful photos for kid portraits (particularly toddlers where a bit of distance from the subject is a GOOD thing) and indoor sports with lots of rapid movement (volleyball) Absolutely love it! Read more
I bought it for my Canon 40D. No regret at all. It is pretty sharp and focuses really fast. It is very well built but not as heavy as the 85mm F1.2L. It is one of the least expensive “L” lenses. It takes time to get used to the 1.6X crop if you use it with none-full frame body. But don’t worry about the focus. It is fast and accurate. The color is so rich and you will think the image is taken from a German lens. It suites the need for indoor action sports... Read more
I bought this lens after seeing some samples with the incredible bokeh at F2. On my 5D, it is a incredible portrait lens. Of course, I think the 85mm 1.2 is still THE portrait lens, but the $2000 price tag drove me away. I am very satisfied with the $1100 price tag for this one, for the optic, and the build quality. No complaint. Read more
