Summary: My four year old was dying to have legos like his big brother, so I got him this as a "starter" set. I love that it comes with clear instructions, a lego guy, and so many pieces. Being Lego, it's great quality. Be aware though: these are the same size as regular legos, meaning very small. We've already lost a couple tiny pieces because 4 year olds don't clean up very well.
Summary: Purchased for a non-lego familiar four year old. It was perfect and simple for him to figure out on his own and he he quickly learned to make his own custom creations. The box picture makes it look bigger than it actually is, but the pieces are still large enough for beginners to figure out where they go.
Summary: I love the Lego Juniors line for my 5-year-old son. The directions are large and easy to follow, and thus the perfect stepping stone from Duplo ("baby Legos") into "big boy" Legos. This digger set is the perfect complement to the larger construction Juniors set that I purchased previously.
Summary: I bought this for my almost 3 year old who recently started getting into Legos. The regular lego sets were too difficult for him and he didn't have any interest in duplos. I was hoping this would be a middle of the road set where there wouldn't be so many tiny pieces and I thought that they pieces themselves would be inbetween duplos and regular legos size-wise. Unfortunately, that was not the case. This is just a regular lego set with fewer pieces.
