Summary: I bought a cordless model to replace a similar size Bosch mower which had a mains lead attached. Initially I was delighted, able to do the lawn cutting because of the absence of the irritating cord. After about two years I found the battery only lasted a relatively short time; fortunately I had bought a second battery so was able to complete at least one lawn area.
Summary: BOSCH Rotak 43 LI Ergo-Flex 2 x 36 V Cordless Lawnmower + 2 batteriesThere is no such thing as customer service with Bosch. Bought one of these in a closing down sale and even though box is sealed Bosch don't want to know that the two batteries and charger the box says it comes with are not packed.
Summary: I have had this mower now for over a year - I have owned both petrol and electric mowers before, and this is the best mower I have ever had. It does feel a trifle 'flimsy' at first but I now think it is built to handle the sort of knocks a mower gets. If you are looking for a tank look elsewhere - if you want a lightweight maneuverable mower, this might be your thing. In a year of 'bloke' usage nothing has broken.
worth spending more to get cordless yet still good at cutting grass

Summary: After reading all the comments i decided to go ahead and splurge and buy a more expensive, bigger lawnmower. previously had manual mower that was supposed make the lawn look great - but spent most of my time trying to adjust the thing. So wanted to upgrade, but garden not big enough for a petrol one, and not overly keen on electric cords, have visions of mowing over cord and electrocuting children and just always seemed to end up tangled in the cord, no matter how...
Brilliant mower, heavy duty but light and easy to use...

Summary: Wanted a mower that I (female) could easily use, lift if necessary and that does the job with no fuss. This is it! Can't praise it enough. Once it was put together - I did it, no problem - I had it mowing the lawn with ease. The height adjuster is the most difficult thing, but once you have the nack, it's fine. A little pricey because it's cordless, but so worth not having to worry about cable length etc.
Summary: The main reason for purchase was to get a lighter mower but still produce good results. The Rotak does all of this. Very light due to the LI batteries. No cable to worry about. Produces good results with a stripe. Easy to manouver. Easy to store away. Plenty of mowing before you have to change battery.
Summary: Agonised over whether to buy a new petrol mower with key start or this 43cm Bosch. So far the Bosch has been an excellent choice. It is very light and easy to use and cuts beautifully. I have to use both batteries on my lawn but this is no problem. If the batteries hold up it will have been a very good buy. I have rechargeable 18v batteries from Black & Decker which have proved useless after a year or so.
