Excerpt: This laptop computer had both pros and cons to it but in the long run I would have too say that I am actually a fan of this computer and for a lot of great reasons too but I will just say what I disliked about it first.
Summary: I read from another individual who purchased a different Toshiba model that they had a solution for the flickering problem. They suggested downloading from Toshiba an AMD/Toshiba patch. Search for your model then AMD display driver. Their problem was solved when doing this. Hope this helps! Also, you can always submit a question on the main page displaying this particular computer. Good luck.
Summary: Well this laptop is gorgeous and I have always loved and wanted a Toshiba. The touchpad is very responsive, probably the best I have ever used. It is so light and thin...you are basically getting a MacBook at 1/3 of the cost. But, after a few days, it started flickering. Upon investigation of forums, I ahve found it is a common issue. I can't believe my first Toshiba is doing this! I hope they can come up with a fix soon, cuz this is annoying.
Summary: AFTER SPENDING A COUPLE OF WEEKS LOOKING AT ALL LAPTOPS, I DECIDED TO PURCHASE THIS TOSHIBA AND AM VERY HAPPY I DID. SOME REVIEWS MENTION FLICKERING AND THIS DID HAPPEN A FEW DAYS AFTER PURCHASE BUT IS CAUSED BY THE NORTON SECURITY. I REMOVED THIS AND REPLACED WITH ANOTHER SECURITY AND NEVER HAD ANOTHER PROBLEM. I KNOW THAT NORTON CAUSES THIS ON OTHER COMPUTERS ALSO. I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE MOUSE, JUST ADJUSTED IT FOR PERSONAL USE.
Summary: I ordered this laptop last Friday and it arrived via Fed Ex today (Tue) which was awesome. The outside of the box had a decent sized dent in one corner. I opened the laptop and booted it up...had to put in a network name and pw reminder. The keyboard gave me trouble...did not pick up all the letters I typed. It then recognized my wireless network in a nano-second which thrilled me, but again, when I had to type in our network identifier the '3' did not work at all.
Summary: I read another review before I wrote this about the screen flickering problem while on the internet, and it said to download an AMD display driver for your model from toshiba.com. Before I downloaded the driver the screen would flicker so bad it was worth taking the computer back. I downloaded the driver and the computer is instantly 100% better it is now a great computer. So if you have a toshiba with a flickering screen you know the fix.
Summary: I ordered this laptop for my brother's graduation and thought it would be perfect for when he goes to college. I've had toshibas before and I found them to be really reliable and sturdy. So, I thought that this was a good value for a good laptop. I couldn't have been more wrong. Within a minute of turning on the laptop, there was a pop up saying: PROBLEM WITH COOLING SYSTEM PLEASE TURN OFF AND RETURN FOR SERVICE.
Summary: I received this Laptop today, when it finally started up....it had alert window open saying: PROBLEM WITH COOLING SYSTEM PLEASE TURN OFF AND RETURN FOR SERVICE. I was unable to select anything and was forced to just turn it off. You can imagine how dissapointing this can be. I know there can be defects and hopefully it will be fixed, but I paid extra for express shipping! I know I better receive a refund for that also.
Summary: I was looking for an ultra-low voltage computer that is lightweight. The Satellite T135D is all that and more. Lots of screen real-estate. A clear, crisp screen. Easy to work on and with. More than six hours of battery life. With 4GB of RAM and a 320GB HDD this machine was a steal. The only problem I'm having is with the touch-pad, but not worse than any other machine I've used.
