Summary: Prior to my alienware i had a Sony Laptop. Wife needed a new laptop and she wanted to get a Toshiba. With my sony, i had a fan break. Sony had a technician come out to my home, clean laptop and replace fan free of charge. Now, wife's laptop is less than a year old and one of the screws on the hinge that connects the screen to the keyboard came off and it sags.

Summary: Got this laptop band new in May 2013. With wireless connection at my home, this laptop's download speed is just 0.7 MBPS,while my 4 year old Dell has a speed of 75 MBPS. I searched the internet, this is a very prevalent problem with Toshiba laptops, but I could not find a solution that solves my problem (change router settings, update Toshiba drivers, etc.
Summary: This is basically a good laptop: plenty of hard drive and memory, and a very fast chip. The problem with it is that it's not properly grounded. I sent back the first one, received a second one, and they both had the same issue. I had to return it and cancel the order. Amazon customer service was very nice, very cooperative, but that doesn't make up for the product being faulty. Here's the problem I'm talking about: In the middle of the power cord is a rectangular box.

Summary: After owning one Toshiba and having very good luck with it, I ordered one of these high-end laptops. Toshiba P870 to be my all around computer. After spending 20 hours setting it up I tried to rip a CD. The drive is not recognized. After searching the issue it sounds like this is a common occurrence with this model. After several aggravating hours on the phone with support I am still having issues. The only thing they would do for me is send me to a paid support service.
