Summary: I didn't like it because the first time after it ran out of battery, my screen turned into black stripes, the touch pad stopped working 2 days after, and the internet router kept on failing.. I wouldn't recommend it but maybe it was just my bad luck.
Summary: I just received my new laptop, plugged it in and got it set up. After a few hours I noticed that the battery was not 100% so I moused over and it said plugged in but not charging. I unplugged the power cord and the laptop shut off. I called Toshiba to see what was causing the issue, their advice was to speak to Amazon to get a replacement. I am not very thrilled with that response, I paid extra to get it shipped in one day since I needed a new laptop.
Summary: This sometimes takes forever to boot up. I don't know whether the computer or Windows 8 is to blame for this. I really despise Windows 8, which is very unintuitive and seems to add unnecessary steps to everything one wants to do. I might like the computer better if it was running Windows XP.
Good Performance; Weak Sound; Medium Design; Really Poor Keyboard

Summary: Been using Dell machines for my last two laptops. Looked at the prices and configurations, and I figured I'd give Toshiba another try (had one many moons ago). Compared to a comparable Dell machine in terms of performance (processor, RAM, video card), the price was definitely right. I probable saved about $400 or so going with the Toshiba. The down side is the exterior design and feel of the materials.
Summary: I had a five year old Dell that worked better than this. I regret purchasing it I took me two weeks to get the software I needed to run it by then the warranty at Staples had expired. This unit does not fare well with Windows 8; maybe if it was a touch screen tablet hybrid and designed to run this operating system but it does not seem to be. Physically the screen is subpar. The worst is the touchpad not at all adequate.
Summary: As far as hardware goes, this laptop offers pretty big bang for the buck (core i7 2.4GHz, 8GB RAM & a Blu-Ray player). Unfortunately Windows 8 leaves something to be desired. While it boots pretty fast (even with a HDD), I have had two major crashes in less than a month of use. I haven't made any changes which should affect stability.
Mac User tried to switch to PC, but there is no advantage other than cheap price. You get what you pay for.

Summary: The hardware itself is not the main issue. WIN 8 makes this otherwise fine computer a headache and a hassle to deal with. Non-intuitive at best, annoyingly distracting at worst. I don't have the time or patience to cater to software engineers who make software for their own amusement. I'll be handing this laptop off to a friend or family member and immediately returning to my MAC platform.
Summary: I just bought this laptop a week ago for $699 on amazon(the 6 GB ram version)!, now it's $900+? I can install 16GB of 1600MHZ RAM myself for $50 bucks. Why the Insane price jump to over $900? And right before New Years it was selling for $570!!!! Unbelievable. Insane price differential... really makes you wonder... For a $900 laptop with the i7-3630qm processor, I would rather get the i7-3770K desktop for $779...
