Summary: I purchased this laptop from officemax/depot for $600/Dec 2014. It seemed to have a lot of technology in it for the price point. I've previously owned notebooks with 17.3 inch screens and worried that this screen might be too small, but was hoping the lighter weight and smaller footprint would make traveling with it less of a burden.
Summary: Nice laptop for the money. Paid $650 for it and easily you can find it for $200 more other places. Lighted keyboard is a nice feature on a laptop, nice cover, keys responsive, very little junk to remove from computer on setup. Why would anyone spend over this $600 or $700 for a laptop is beyond me. Quad core I7, plenty of memory. We don't game or do anything taxing so for us its actually overkill.
Summary: I've had Toshiba laptops for many years. we still have one that works with windows 95 and have always had good luck with them I've read the other reviews and I haven't experienced any of the problems listed except the space bar. I have found if you hit it a little heavier and more in the center than on the edge it works fine. I've had it a week and a half and I am very happy with it.
Excerpt: Great computer for the home user and for schoolwork. I would like for it to have a DVD drive, but I knew it did not have one when I bought it. All in all for a computer that runs the Dreaded Windows 8 OS it works perfectly. A good call if you are willing to spend the extra money for the processor and the storage, but if you only need to surf the net there could be cheaper options out there for you.
Pros: Easy to Use, Battery Life, Display Screen, Lightweight, Quality, Easy to Set Up, Performance
Summary: I bought the HP Laptop with the AMD A10 processor and 12 gig ram because I was trying to save a buck. I ended up returning it because the mouse pad was hard to use and the screen was not hd and had poor viewing angle. Went back to the store and the guy working the pc section helped me pick this one out. It runs great.... Its light, fast, battery runs forever, mouse pad feels like my macbook pro and the audio is pretty good for a laptop.
Pros: light weight backlit keyboard is a plus fast and battery life is great 4 hours min
Cons: no dvd drive screen gets wet looking spots if pressure is applied on backside. can be corrected by twisting screen easily
