Excerpt: So, i've used laptops since 1994. Anyway, I always purchased HP. Then I chose Toshiba a couple years ago. BIG MISTAKE. I'm NOT A SCHILL FOR any other company. After less than a year, the battery stopped charging (I NEVER used the battery, always A/C, but the monitor says 0%).
Excerpt: It's a good price point, which is the only reason I gave it 2 stars, but it is slow, constantly updating, forcing software, and repeatedly shuts down, causing a slow and painful startup. I wish I would have returned this when I had the opportunity.
Excerpt: I just bought a Toshiba Satellite and am very disappointed in the software and drivers. If you want a computer that works correctly out of the box, don't buy a Toshiba. Here are a few of the issues that I ran into:
-The WIFI will not connect when coming out of sleep mode.
The screen started flickering just a month after the warranty ...
6 January 2016
Summary: The screen started flickering just a month after the warranty expired. Since it was out of warranty,Toshiba was going to charge an arm and a leg just to look at it. So I took it in to a local guy to get it looked at, instead.
Excerpt: I really hate to leave a bad review but the laptop has display driver problems. The screen locks up then blinks and a display driver error message appears. I shouldn't see a problem in a new laptop specially one that costs over $1000... it will be returned. The rest of the laptop is awesome...
Excerpt: Slow for its configuration and freezes frequently. High resolution screen is good except that everything (specially icons) are super tiny and when you change screen resolution, the screen shrinks and wastes areas on left and right of monitor!
Summary: I got this for next to nothing--under $600 at Office Depot a year ago. Unfortunately, unpleasant experience has taught me that there are some BIG drawbacks to this fast laptop. You should consider another manufacturer. The pros are obvious from the description, starting with the i7 processor.
Summary: I really wanted to like this laptop, I was really exited to upgrade from a second hand 08 base MacBook that I bought in 2012, but that excitement quickly transitioned into disapointment. The only reason I still have it after a few months is because I've been too busy to do anything about it.
