Summary: After one week I am pleased with all the features, great monitor, fast, good size and love the lighted keyboard. Yes, loaded with a ton of bloatware including 3 virus programs, I use win defender included in 8.1. Arrived with 8.1 and Toshiba documentation for only Win8.
Pros: boot time around 15 seconds. graet touch screen.
Summary: We purchased two of these computers to run our business and they work well and we have had no problems with the touch pad. The laptop is fast, light and the touch screen is wonderful. I would recommend this to anyone.
Summary: I bought the Toshiba to do intensive "Photoshopping". In that respect it does fine, and keeps cool. One problem with this computer, however, is a deal breaker. The touch pad does not act like a normal pad. They incorporated the mouse buttons into the pad (which is a remarkable stupid idea to begin with) so the the buttons act as a part of the pad. If your finger still touches the pad when you have to click, the pointer will run off the hot spot.
Pros: works fine keeps cool
Cons: touch pad not working right - a deal breaker.
Summary: Needing a computer quickly to replace one that finally gave out, I purchased a Toshiba Satellite S55T-A5334 from the closest Costco store this evening. Once home, and before opening the box, I decided to learn more about the system online. Long story short, I discovered that this model does NOT include Bluetooth capability. Thus, no built-in way to connect using Bluetooth speakers, Bluetooth mouse, Bluetooth capable home theater receiver, etc.
Summary: The laptop arrived within two days and on the first day it was working fast and great looking screen made me real happy for the purchase until the next day that I tried to play blu-ray movie but it was not being recognized by the system. Called customer service but told me that it was defective and they could not do anything because they said it's the hardware. So there you go, back to costco.
