Summary: We Purchased this lap top in September 2013 It was always very slow to boot up and its performance did not compare with an old single core lap top we have. For some unknown reason the Many of the keyboard keys stopped working about one month ago. I returned the Laptop to the retailer (not Amazon) It took Toshiba UK 10 days to collect the Laptop from them to take it away from repair and they are now asking me to pay to remove a Bios Pass word I did not put on the Lap top...
Summary: The machine is probably o.K, but the new programme is a pain. If it wasn't for a knowledgeable neighbour It would have been sent back to you . Microsafes idea of improvements is to completely change the appearance of a programme so you can't find anything, or do anything. Why can't they leave alone, we aren't all whizz kids wanting the latest games. Own goal.
Summary: How I wish I had never purchased this laptop, even more so with windows 8 on it. Windows 8 does not seem to cooperate with Internet explorer 10 at all. I find it freezes and is temperamental. But back to the laptop. It is a nice looking laptop but some of the toshiba functions are dysfunctional. I have problems with the mouse pad and occasionally the cursor sticks and won't move. Time and again I have to reload it.
Summary: Computer itself is ok for the money but I absolutely hate Windows 8! I actually hate it with passion.. I can find my way around it but I don't think my 65 year old mother will! Why "improving" something that works perfectly well? As for the graphic card, it needs improvement as even watching YouTube the vids are pixelated..
Summary: The lap top is fine and was dispatched quickly but I won't be buying anything of value from Amazon again as they use City Link (the worst courier service I've experienced), I received no notification of when delivery would take place so was not at home on the first occasion they called and a card was left. I re-arranged delivery for a specific date and was at home all day but no package.
Summary: build quality quite poor. flimsy plastic, especially around screen. underpowered for windows 8 and often freezes for long periods. Windows 8 is a disaster anyway but this pc isn't geared up to cope with it.
Summary: I'm not very technical nor am I interested in specifications so when it comes to PC's and laptops I simply want something that is reliable and user friendly. Whilst I believe the Toshiba C850 to be reliable, like its predecessors I would not describe it as user friendly. In fact, the addition of Windows 8 has probably made this model less user friendly than ever. Navigating around the system is tedious and at times unpredictable.
Summary: Have had a few laptops now and this is the worst one for sound yet. The speakers are either broken on mine or the quality is really that poor. Very disappointed, cheap laptops should still be up to standard. Windows 8 is purely for touch screen purposes but I've learnt to use it well regardless.
Summary: I bought this laptop based on the reviews I saw on here, and I have to say, once it had arrived I was incredibly disappointed with the product. My two biggest qualms of the laptop are to do with the quality of the item itself. It's very cheaply put together. The keyboard is of a terrible quality, making typing quite difficult.
A complete joke, unable to read a page without being cut off?

Summary: I like Windows 8, you need to get used to it which is fine however this laptop has a very very big problem: if it stays idle for as little as 3-5 minutes it shuts off!! fortunately the computer is fast and logs back in quickly however at the moment I'm not willing to deal with such constant distractions!!! if you are reading something without having touched the keyboard, it just shuts you off after few minutes even if you move your mouse and click around nothing!
