The Rise and Fall of the Toshiba Satellite Pro C850-1EQ
21 May 2015
Excerpt: The Toshiba Satellite Pro is one of two laptops I currently use, and the third one I've ever owned. I was given it as a Christmas present in December 2012 by my parents. As I write this review it is now May 2015, and it's still (mostly) great to use.
Summary: We Purchased this lap top in September 2013 It was always very slow to boot up and its performance did not compare with an old single core lap top we have. For some unknown reason the Many of the keyboard keys stopped working about one month ago.
Summary: The machine is probably o.K, but the new programme is a pain. If it wasn't for a knowledgeable neighbour It would have been sent back to you . Microsafes idea of improvements is to completely change the appearance of a programme so you can't find anything, or do anything.
Summary: How I wish I had never purchased this laptop, even more so with windows 8 on it. Windows 8 does not seem to cooperate with Internet explorer 10 at all. I find it freezes and is temperamental. But back to the laptop. It is a nice looking laptop but some of the toshiba functions are dysfunctional.
Summary: Computer itself is ok for the money but I absolutely hate Windows 8! I actually hate it with passion.. I can find my way around it but I don't think my 65 year old mother will! Why "improving" something that works perfectly well?
Summary: The lap top is fine and was dispatched quickly but I won't be buying anything of value from Amazon again as they use City Link (the worst courier service I've experienced), I received no notification of when delivery would take place so was not at home on the first occasion they called and a card...
Summary: build quality quite poor. flimsy plastic, especially around screen. underpowered for windows 8 and often freezes for long periods. Windows 8 is a disaster anyway but this pc isn't geared up to cope with it.
Summary: I'm not very technical nor am I interested in specifications so when it comes to PC's and laptops I simply want something that is reliable and user friendly. Whilst I believe the Toshiba C850 to be reliable, like its predecessors I would not describe it as user friendly.
Summary: Have had a few laptops now and this is the worst one for sound yet. The speakers are either broken on mine or the quality is really that poor. Very disappointed, cheap laptops should still be up to standard. Windows 8 is purely for touch screen purposes but I've learnt to use it well regardless.
Summary: I bought this laptop based on the reviews I saw on here, and I have to say, once it had arrived I was incredibly disappointed with the product. My two biggest qualms of the laptop are to do with the quality of the item itself. It's very cheaply put together.
