Good cheap laptop
28 January 2015
Excerpt: I needed a reasonably priced mid range laptop to replace mine that had a broken screen. The Toshiba satellite c850 seemed to fit the bill nicely for what I needed, something with good speed, and good memory, but not too expensive. I use the laptop regularly but not for anything 'hardcore' as such, just mainly for browsing the internet, email, storing pictures and watching youtube videos. This is brilliant for all of that and more.
Summary: a lousy laptop - keyboards didnt work - fixed twice so out of action for several weeks - then charger stopped working/ melted - will never buy a toshiba laptop again - and never buy in currys again lousy service next time will spend £500 - £600 on a laptop without the name toshiba
Summary: After having owned a Toshiba Satellite P200-IK8 I am disappointed with the build quality of this rebuild, model, especially as a new one was advertised at £800.00. This model, is made from cheaper materials, the screen/lid does not have a lock and there are less ports, than I am used to. Furthermore, I found that the battery hatch door was not closed properly, because one of the plastic recess points, that receive the lugs on the door was distorted and broken.
Summary: Bought this for my partner. I generally handle the IT side of things around the house. I built her a desktop computer 8 or 9 years ago, which had been chugging along nicely with occasional upgrades, but it finally gave up the ghost. She requested it be replaced with a laptop, so that she wasn't so tied to her desk, and I obliged. We've had no problems with it at all, it's got more than enough poke for her needs.
