Summary: My previous computer was a Toshiba. I had great sucess with my other Toshiba computer - so decided to get another one. I really liked that I could get a computer that could be used as both a work and home computer. I received it in the promised amount of time. Was easy to set up. I would only say that I wished it already came loaded with working windows software and security software, rather than a 30 day trial which then required another 500-600 purchase of after...
Summary: I like it! It runs good for the work I've been doing on it. It's really a nice lap top/notebook for the money, since I was strongly considering an expensive Mac notebook. My biggest concern is that it holds up the next 4 years while I'm in school.
Summary: 1st I don't believe the product was representative of Toshiba products. I had long and good service from my previous Toshiba laptop. But this particular model arrived with the inability to charge the internal battery. All else seemed to work OK but without a battery to sustain true lap top feature I returned it. To Amazon (or its 3rd party) a full refund was issued without incident.
Summary: Just got my Toshiba Satellite Pro in the mail yesterday and the first thing I did was plug in my Ubuntu 12.04 pen drive and see how well it runs. One word: Perfection. This laptop is super fast and is great for watching HD movies. Works flawlessly with Linux.
Summary: This machine is versatile, FAST, and hasn't given me any problems. I was a bit anxious about a Windows 7 machine, as I am somewhat well versed in XP. Having Windows 7 'professional', so I had the option to switch back to 'XP mode', and to be honest, I have not done it. I had purchased a similarly equipped DESKTOP from another site, only to have it go out of stock.
