Summary: Firstly I did not buy this laptop from amazon, my unit was purchased at best buy in atlanta. I don't think it slow it runs quit well actually. It doesn't over heat or make loud fan noises. Th screen is crystal clear and most of my Windows 7 programs work well or better in windows 8 environment.
Summary: The computer itself is excellent! I think it should have more memory but that can be fixed.I can't say the same for the pre-loaded windows 8 is a real pain. I tried to load windows 7 butthenew system won't allow it.
Summary: I'd first like to mention that I didn't purchase this laptop on Amazon; I bought it on eBay, brand new, in box for $500. Totally worth it. I'm upgrading from an old Toshiba Satellite from 2009 and honestly this laptop isn't all that bad. It took me maybe two hours to get used to Windows 8, although I'm sure there's some things I haven't learned yet. I only use the touchscreen when I'm on the start screen, but it's still a cool feature.
Excerpt: The main draw of this unit is going to be Windows 8, and how well the touchscreen works with Windows 8. After using this machine I find it hard to imagine anyone using Windows 8 without a touchscreen, as everything seems so big and broad that using a mouse or touchpad feels inefficient and puny;...
Summary: Love it. Touch screen is fantastic. great innovation. Screen gets covered in finger prints but I haven't cleaned it because they are not a problem. Keyboard is best of the lot that we looked at - particularly like the backlit feature. eventually got widi to work (use the widi drivers from the toshiba site folks !). Lovely look and feel to it - feels very sturdy in comparison to a lot we looked at. Bad points - seems to use up more battery than I thought it would.
