Summary: I have owned at least 5 laptops over the years, including 2 others from Toshiba. This is by far the worst one I have ever used. For a newer computer, it is dirt slow. Booting from powering on takes a good 5-10 minutes for it to fully come up. Bringing the computer out of sleep mode doesn't fare much better. For some strange reason, the wifi shuts down when coming out of sleep mode, and takes 3-4 minutes before it will reconnect.
Summary: I agree with the others, its glitchy and it runs really really slow. (My 3 year old $329.00 Asus was way faster) I paid $625. for it about 9 months ago and went with it because at the time that was a super deal on the unit. I was disapointed with the machine but still really liked the touch screen and figured I needed to get more comfortable with Windows 8.
Summary: As a college professor who teaches online, I have had many, many laptops. My last Toshiba was a dream. This computer is Satan. The screen goes from huge to tiny on its own. You are typing and it jumps to a totally different screen. Sometimes when you are typing, it freezes. Sometimes it puts annoying blue boxes around everything. I have never, ever had a computer this bad.
Summary: I wasted a lot of money on this purchase obviously. Windows 8 is the most UN User friendly operating system EVER!!!!! This computer fails every time I try to upload my printer to it. Also wouldn't let me transfer picture files from my phone. I have always been a very efficient computer user, but this is the worst OS EVER! Also it takes forever for anything to load. I would not recommend this product to ANYONE!
Summary: I really like the model itself, it's everything I want: small, touch screen, the surface doesn't get dirty, keyboard is nice, but its super glitchy! So far I've switched out for THREE separate computers. Two came from 2 separate Best Buys in Seattle and another (from Best Buy) in Salt Lake City.
Worst laptop that I've ever had the misfortune to own.

Summary: I bought this heap of junk just under a year ago. I have had nothing but problems with it from the word go. I've given up altogether now, and have taken the plunge, splashing out an an Apple Macbook instead. It comes tomorrow, so this is the last night that I'll have to use the Toshiba. I can't wait to see the back of it. Let's get the one 'plus' point out of the way, so that I can get on with the moaning. The sound. Excellent.
Summary: I have been a Toshiba user since my second laptop in 1995 which cost £3500! This is being sent back for the following reasons: I don't like Windows 8. I even downgraded Vista to XP which is what I still use. The Touchpad is worse than useless. Because the buttons are integrated into the same bit as the 'mousy' bit, it is difficult to right or left-click without the cursor 'jumping' to a different part of the screen. Dragging is difficult for this reason too.
Summary: I received this computer just prior to the Christmas selling season. I experienced one bad experience after the other including: 1) Skipped keys while typing slowing typing speed 2) Slightly cramped keyboard slowing typing speed 3) The touch icons worked inconsistently; sometime not at all 4) Some programs would download only with the mouse and not with the touchscreen 5) Toshiba's customer's service frequently couldn't solve my problem and escalated me to a higher level...
