Summary: This Toshiba laptop is pretty fast, but it is got one of the most troubling battery meter. It can show 29% left and in the next blink of an eye, it shuts itself off because it has run out of power in the battery. This is very frustrating when you are working on some document seeing that it still has 30 minute left and BAM! the next thing the laptop has shut down. Very frustrating.
Excerpt: This was not my first choice - what I really wanted was sold out at Staples. The first day started out well, it was fast both in running programs and in burning DVDs. But the keys of the keyboard have a glossy, slippery finish and are very flat (like most laptop keys today) making touch typing difficult. The glossy finish also shows fingerprints like crazy (a matte finish would be better). The screen was bright, yet average and glossy producing a good bit of glare.
Pros: Fast, Fast i7 mobile processor, reasonably priced
Cons: Bad monitor glare, Case feels cheap, Finish is too glossy, Keyboard keys slippery
Summary: I bought this laptop 2 weeks back. I have started using it and tested it for most basic features. First for display. Toshiba's are not that great but ok . When you look at laptop from a angle in such a way that screen is above the eye level then we see the ghost image on the laptop. Even from angles more than 30 or 150 degrees we can see the ghost image. Battery life is not 6.3 hours in any way of normal usage but drains out in 2.5 hours.
Summary: I bought one of these at Staples for $650 plus tax, and ever since leaving the store with it have had nothing but bad experience. Here is a Compare & Contrast about the pros and cons of this item. PROS: Stylish, attractive Fusion X2 design Intel "Sandy Bridge" Core i7 processor. Large display (15.6 inches) Number pad at side; full keyboard CONS: Very short battery life (On lowest settings, could only muster about 4 hours) Keyboard (Very hard to use, extra pressure has to...
Summary: Sent mine back within two weeks, apparently with a faulty hard drive. Did like the keyboard. Also think the feature set is nice. I'd get another if I though the quality was high enough, but don't. This because the feature package it comes with is what I needed.
Excerpt: I decided to return mine within an hour, and within two hours I bought an HP for less. Fortunantly Staples pricematched it, so I got a better computer for less. Not that all Toshibas are bad, but mine was really noisy, (hard drive, fan and some other weird sound even with the speakers off), grainy resolution, and worst of all, the battery litterally did not work at all. It did not even gain 1% charge over the course of 90 minutes.
