Toshiba Satellite P755 Review

Digitaltrends
23 April 2012
  • Conclusion: Performance is certainly this system’s strong point. Though the slow hard drive drags the package down a bit, this system is fast in the demanding workloads that are most likely to strain a laptop’s resources. This computer can handle anything the average consumer will ask of it, and it does so without straining the buyer’s wallet. Audio quality is another strong point, and while the display isn’t outstanding, it works well with movies and games.
  • Pros: Good build quality, Full-size numpad, Class-leading audio, Minimal bloatware, Excellent performance
  • Cons: So-so battery life, Thick and heavy, Twitchy touchpad

Toshiba Satellite P755-3DV20 - Core i5 2410M 2.3GHz - 15.6-inch TFT - with Nvidia 3D Vision Kit

CNET
27 December 2011
  • Summary: The 3D-enabled Toshiba Satellite P755-3DV20 is one of the more affordable 3D-enabled laptops, but it lacks the horsepower we've seen in more-robust 3D gaming laptops.
  • Pros: The Toshiba Satellite P755-3DV20 is packed with features: Blu-ray, midrange Nvidia graphics, and Nvidia 3D Vision with included glasses, along with Harman Kardon speakers and USB 3.0.
  • Cons: Battery life is under 3 hours at best, and hard-core 3D enthusiasts would likely prefer a larger, higher-resolution screen.

Expert Review

ComputerShopper
21 November 2011
  • Conclusion: The Toshiba Satellite P755-3DV20 is a capable performer, but that’s not what this notebook is really about. Armed with a 120Hz display and Nvidia’s 3D Vision technology, it delivers great 3D image quality right out of the box, and it’s reasonably priced. A secondary high-speed USB port and/or an eSATA connection would have been nice, as would another hour of battery life. We’d also like to see Nvidia come up with a lighter, more comfortable pair of glasses.
  • Pros: Great 3D image quality, Decent performance, Discrete graphics, 3D Blu-ray player
  • Cons: Short battery life, 3D requires clunky glasses, Mediocre selection of ports, Some crosstalk artifacts

Review: Toshiba Satellite P755-S5270 laptop

Geek.com
18 October 2011
  • Excerpt: Right now there are three general types of laptops. You’ve got your ridiculously thin, not terribly powerful ones. There’s the desktop replacement laptop, where the power brick alone weighs more than the first category, but the system packs enough power that you don’t mind the chiropractor visits. Then, there are the mid-range machines.

Toshiba Satellite P755-S5272 Review

LAPTOP Magazine
1 September 2011
  • Summary: The $949 Toshiba Satellite P755-S5272 offers great processing power along with a crisp screen and loud and rich audio. However, poor battery life and weak graphics performance keep this notebook from being one of our favorites. We're also not fans of the finish on this laptop. While you give up a Blu-ray drive, the $899 HP Pavilion dv6t offers better graphics, a nicer design, and longer battery life.

Review: Toshiba Satellite P755

Wired
16 August 2011
  • Excerpt: It’s kind of amazing what $880 will get you these days: 15.6 inches of laptop, with a Core i5 CPU, 6GB of RAM, a 750 GB hard drive and high-end Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics. Laptop buyers looking for all the basics and beyond couldn’t go wrong with specs like this, and Toshiba aims to give it to them with the new Satellite P755 . Performance is decidedly mixed.

Toshiba Satellite P755

THE INQUIRER
4 January 2012
  • Conclusion: The Toshiba Satellite P755 is a good laptop that will appeal to multimedia fans. Whilst the hardware is excellent, the 3D isn't as good as we'd hoped. At £999 you might want to consider a cheaper option or wait for Toshiba's glasses free laptop.
  • Pros: Design, build quality, performance, screen.
  • Cons: Bulky and expensive glasses., Lack of brightness in 3D.

Toshiba Satellite P755 review

PC Advisor
10 November 2011
  • Summary: The Toshiba Satellite P755 laptop is touted for its 3D capabilities. It isn't the prettiest laptop I've ever seen, and some aspects of its design (namely its keyboard, its touchpad, and the bright LEDs all over the place) could use some work, but it's a solid performer and it displays 3D very well.

Toshiba Satellite P755-113

TechRadar UK
21 June 2011
  • Excerpt: Things are moving fast in mobile gaming right now. For the traditional laptop to stay relevant in these tablet-filled times, it has to offer something special to offset the decreased mobility compared to its touchscreen foe. The easiest area to exploit is raw power, specifically graphics. Fruit Ninja is all well and good on an Apple iPad 2 , but what if you want to play the latest DirectX 11 games on the go?
