Excerpt: After my cheap laptop died completely after 3 years (with major problems over 2 of those years), I decided to spend a little more on something that had everything I wanted. And the Toshiba M645 had it. It's fast, it's lightweight, and it's portable. All things that I wanted. I was concerned about the size of the keyboard, but found that it's just as easy to type on as a full-sized one.
Excerpt: I just recently purchased a Toshiba laptop to replace my antiquated Dell. I was a bit hesitant at first to buy a Toshiba since I have not really used one in the past. However, I have been thoroughly pleased with my computer. It came preloaded with Windows 7, and it was super easy to load all of my software on as well and runs super fast. I love the size (14") of the screen and the overall size of the laptop.
Summary: I know you've all been holding your breath waiting for Ridge's annual product review, as I been flooded with messages from RIA's faithful asking me if I've had any relatively pleasant shopping experiences and the answer is "Yes". And now that I'm fully recovered from the 'git's visit, I'm ready to share. Went on-line looking for a new laptop and landed, once again, on Toshiba's website.
Summary: I HATE this laptop. I purchased it about 10 months ago to replace and aging DELL (which still works and is in better condition than this Toshiba) and it is complete JUNK. Trashy, cheap casing. The hinge on the right hand side of the laptop broke. Apparently this laptop lid could not handle the tough task of being opened and closed several times, on a daily basis.
Summary: The keyboard itself takes a bit of a time to get use to due to the keys being separated instead of together, not to mention that it may feel heavy to punch in at times. This computer also uses Microsoft Starter so a purchase of a product key is highly recommended, even required, in order to be able to use the full features of Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. I had the notebook for less than two weeks now but so far, it's performing almost perfectly.
Summary: well I'll never buy any other laptop... i had mine for about 2 years, no probs at all I used to have probs with all other pcs i've owned, i easily wreck my stuff but this wasn't the case here, PLUS my friend has had his Toshiba Satellite since november 2007, he turns it off once/month, he never installed any anti-virus on it, it has been 2 years since his hard disk is full, and he still does not have any probs, and i've got my mum a Toshiba Satellite as a birthday...
Excerpt: For a laptop that has such great features, it was really disappointing to see that the webcam was subpar. Testing it on videochat, the image was very grainy and had a pale green overlay. That one gripe aside, the Toshiba Satellite M645-S4114 is a great laptop, especially for its price. It can easily handle the basic computing needss (web browsing, word processing) and the more user-heavy ones (graphic design, gaming).
