Nice machine and runs superb under Windows 7 premium.

Summary: Brilliant laptop. First thing I did was to fully format the HDD and install Windows 7 premium on it. Runs even faster now without all the pre-installed junk on it and thanks to the Toshiba website, got all the drivers for it as well for Windows 7. Excellent machine. Agree with earlier review though that the DVD does seem flimsy for such a nice lappy. Running the latest software like "3ds Max 2015" with no problem at all.
Summary: the PC is great, however, I do not appreciate Windows 8. as always prompt and efficient service from Amazon. I am sure i will enjoy the Toshiba, but will take some getting used to on Windows 8
Summary: I love this laptop, it is powerful, is upgradeable to 16 gb ram, has a very powerful dedicated graphics card that has 2 gb vram. So what is the problem One tiny niggle in that the dvd tray is very flimsy and is psitioned just where you hold the laptop. However it is a tiny niggle. 5 stars up to now It looses a star by having windows 8 installed. Without doubt the worst windows version ever made.
Summary: I bought this laptop at cheaper price which is 387, I have already own HP DV6 i7, when I opened it I don't even bother to use it and request for return after 1 hour of use, the keyboard is really cheap quality, But then I make up my mind first I installed windows 7, took me some hours, Then i start using it and i am typing on same machine. Pros Great HD screen (the main reason of buying screen plus gaming card) no reflection and is so bright I must say awesome.
Summary: I managed to buy this laptop for £387 a month ago when it was on sale, and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised with it. I was looking for a laptop with an i7 processor that I could use to run Autocad for a college course, however I decided to try this with an i5 processor as it was an excellent price. This manages to run Autocad and my other programmes without any hassle. It also runs PC games without any issues, which is great.
Summary: I'm a pure computer geek and I normally like big specs and numbers so I was as surprised as you are that I took the plunge and brought this laptop. I brought it as a cheap knock about for taking to mates houses to play PC Games on, Generals, Left 4 dead and maybe a bit of EVE Online depending on how well the graphics could cope. The laptop arrived and the first thing you notice is the size of it! its massive, makes my old 17" HP laptop look tiny.
Summary: I bought is an update to my 4 year old Samsung. Massive mistake. Windows 8 is rubbish, slower than 7. The keyboard is an absolute mess. There is only one function button and you cannot turn up the volume for example without using both hands. CD player rattles a lot. Sound system is not as good as my 4 year old Samsung. Screen resolution is better though.
Summary: where do i start? ' OK - I paid £500 which is good for a 17" laptop. And the screen is truly superb. Fairly fast processor providing you don't run more than one power program. Runs very cool, battery life is excellent (2+ hours) and a vast improvement upon previous 17" sony. Negatives? USB ports + headphone port are lower RH side - exactly where a RH user has a mouse so you are constantly snagging a USB stick or headphone cable with the mouse.
