Summary: This probably would have been a good product had the seller packaged it properly. When it arrived the screen was cracked and the power cord was missing. Luckliy I had a cord from another laptop that fits this one. I will never purchase anything from this seller again.
Summary: I work in the concert and theatre business and my laptop gets used at least 14 hours a day, at least six days a week (between work and my personal internet addiction...) My current unit is a higher version of this model and my previous one was an earlier large capacity Toshiba.
Summary: I have owned many Toshiba laptops...the L655D I have now is only 2 years old and won't start anymore. I checked Toshiba Forums and many others have the same problem. Toshiba wants $119 to diagnose it and $354 to fix the motherboard. At that point, I would just buy another laptop..
Summary: I bought one in December, 2010, after reading favorable reviews about performance, etc. I also bought the 3-year extended warranty, which was an additional $200. So far, I am getting my money's worth out of the warranty (and the laptop is less than 2 years old.
Summary: I've had this laptop for just under two years now. The physical construction is solid and it's a decent machine with decent specs out of the box. It's great for everyday computing and browsing, and performs well for more demanding tasks like code compilation, mid-level gaming, and Photoshop.
Summary: This was a pretty good laptop until the hard drive failed. It had decent power for everyday tasks as well as some lite-games. The hard drive did last for 1yr 4mo but that is too short. Of course it is out of warranty.
Summary: Approximately 2 months ago, after reading reviews from many different sites, I purchased the Toshiba Satellite laptop and have been so thrilled with it in every aspect! My brother called recently asking what was a good Laptop to purchase and I raved about this one.
