Toshiba Satellite - Solid Computer with Screen resolution and battery issues
29 June 2011
Summary: 6/29/2011:This computer (Toshiba L655-S5158) looks solid, with satisfactory performance. I mean it has good speed, and it can handle a lot of windows. But it's battery does not sustain it for long. Duration actually depends on how much work you are doing. For that matter, it works nice as a Desktop replacement. 3 stars for that. If you will travel with this one, then don't buy. I hope this information will be useful to you, if you are thinking about buying this computer.
Summary: This is a pretty good laptop for what your going to pay but there are some things that could use some work. The touchpad is a pain. While trying to move around a page, it constantly zooms in or out or slides the entire page down. That can be very annoying if you are working on a paper or something like that. I suggest if you buy this laptop to invest in an external mouse and just turn the touchpad off. Also, the speakers are terrible.
Summary: The machine is OK, it rarely becomes hot and it runs fast. Screen is good too. Battery is good and some design is considerate like Fn+Sleep making the machine sleep. But the keyboard is an issue. Some key like "backspace" and "enter" are small. And the extra numerical pad is somehow useless to me, buts its presence force the laptop to be off-the-center of your sight because your major typing activity will be on the left side of the keyboard.
