Summary: Toshiba did a good job with features - hard drive size, memory, etc - but forgot to build their product with any real quality in mind. My laptop went back to the manufacturer, twice, for repairs which included a new hard drive, keyboard, and other items essential to keeping a computer working properly. After the laptop was returned the second time, it still froze up. Toshiba was willing repair it a third time, but instead of that happening, I sold it.
Summary: I bought this laptop from Beach Camera a few months ago, nothing wrong with their service or even price, my main problem is with Toshiba's skimping on battery capacity. The laptop itself is very fast; plugged in I have no complaints. Initially I only got 90 minutes battery life, I assumed that some 'wear-in' time period was necessary and that after a few charge cycles it would improve.
Toshiba has a very poor Quality and Warranty service

Summary: DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA LAPTOPS,THEY ARE POOR QUALITY AND WARRANTY SERVICE IS WORSE. I bought two Toshiba Laptops model L645D-S4036 in Amazon, one for me and one for my son. Both laptops had quality problems since we received them. Mine had all kind of issues so I took it to Best Buy for repair and after one month, they finally replaced the mother board to fix the issue. Last week, I sent my laptop again for repair because the mouse key is not working properly.
Summary: I got eight months out of this machine before it finally gave up the ghost (I am writing this review on another laptop as I sit and watch the Toshiba try, try, try to boot up one last time). For the first four or five months, things were quite good. The machine worked well, I could surf the net easily, no problems. Around month six it got a virus (I had McAfee loaded and totally up to date) and I reimaged the machine.
Summary: Not pleased with this purchase. Has begun overheating regularly and the mousepad keys stick up oddly. After only having the machine for 9 months, it seems like it is ready to meltdown at any point and the "left click" key on the mousepad sticks all the time. Really feels like a cheap, cheap electronic toy. I'll look to spend more money I guess on the next laptop which will be much much sooner than I had planned.
Summary: I purchased a Satellite L655 series laptop and immediately had problems with it. The fan comes on really loud very often and doesn't go off for a long time, even though the cpu temp has gone way down. It gives me a headache, literally. I gives me a headache partly because it's so loud and partly because I'm so irritated that I spent so much time researching what computer to get and talking to friends and ended up with this.
Summary: I purchased this machine late December, 2010. I particularly liked the small size and weight, thinking it would be a great machine to travel with. Well, it's still small and still lightweight, but it is no pleasure to use. 1st - it's noisy. The fan runs almost constantly. 2nd - The right click on the touchpad quit working within a month. 3rd - The CD compartment rattles when used ... can hear above the music and it shakes the entire machine.
Summary: Bought this laptop on November 2010, got broken on March 2011, I've been waiting for 2 months in order to get it repaired, but SURPRISE!! Toshiba do not have replacement parts for this laptop so what I can understand is that there is not a warranty for this laptop, they also says they can't give me a replacement laptop because it happens only when a computer gets repaired 3 times because of the same problem...
Summary: This thing gets SOOO HOT it will raise the temperature in your house a few degrees. Its so bad you can barely touch the touchpad longer than a few seconds. The speakers are absolutely TERRIBLE the speakers on my mothers 6 year old HP sound better. Triple core shmiple core every last video thats not streaming skips...I tried different players changing video card settings and nothing.
Summary: I purchased my Satellite 15 months ago and have loved it until two weeks ago when the 2 USB ports on the right-hand side came loose and fell inside. I took the computer to a repair shop and was told this is a common issue with Toshiba laptops due to the weld Toshiba uses for the ports; they couldn't repair it but could send it in to Toshiba for repair -- at a cost of $400!
