Summary: This was a great laptop, EXCEPT one major design flaw... the power a/c outlet breaks very easily. I have the laptop repair under warranty three times for this!! Once out of warranty it broke again. I now have a laptop that is fine besides this flaw, and it will cost me about $200 to fix, I rather just invest in a new one, then throw another $200 into the laptop. Other than that it was fairly descent, a little on the heavy side.
Excerpt: I have been using a computer for many years for e-mail and searching for information. Decided to go the next step and buy a laptop. Right from the start I knew I wanted the 17' screen. All of tne new features were fun to learn and I got better with practice. Windows 7, touch mouse, skyp,Face recognition all seemed cutting edge to me. You have probaly guessed by now that I'am a senior citizen.

Excerpt: I purchased my Toshiba Satellite L555 laptop at Sams Club a couple of months ago when they were running a special for $699.00. When I arrived, they were sold out and offered me the display model at an additional 10% off which I gladly took. It has a great processer by Intel, theCore i5 and comes preloaded with Windows 7. the large display (screen) makes for much easier reading and simple zoom features to enlarge script when needed.
Summary: This was a 'suprise' gift from my husband ... and I love it! (I previously had a Dell 15") The 17.3" size is actually more than a 'lap' full. I had to send it in for speaker repair about 2 weeks after I received it, but Toshiba makes this totally simple and hassle free (LOVE that TOO!). They sent me a box w/ prepaid postage, I mailed it to them, they repaired it and it was back in my lap within 1 week. I am very, very pleased - and I LOVE IT!
Summary: Don't buy a Toshiba laptop if you want to play any games on it like Sims, world of warcraft, or dragon age. I bought this laptop since it met and exceeded all the requirements for the games I play. I found out from the game manufacturer that Toshiba does not update the drivers needed to play these games. So although it meets the recommended specs it will never play the game. I will never purchase a Toshiba again its worthless if you want to do more than surf the web.
