Toshiba Satellite L50-B-182 Notebook Review

Notebookcheck
27 September 2014
  • Summary: Multimedia machine. The spec sheet of the L50 is quite impressive. Toshiba's Satellite seems to absolutely satisfy private users with a strong CPU, a 1 TB hard drive, a graphics card from AMD, and a DVD burner. All that is available for a reasonable street price of 1000 Euros (~$1263).
  • Pros: Screen's very good brightness, Full HD resolution, Immaculate build, Toshiba's Satellite is an allover solid multimedia laptop without real shortcomings.
  • Cons: Glare-type screen, Not suitable for gaming, A higher performance graphics card wouldn't hurt the device.

Notebookcheck
9 September 2013
  • Summary: High-gloss all-rounder. The Satellite L50 wants to be a powerful all-rounder notebook for home use. With an up-to-date Core i7 and Kepler graphics, Toshiba starts off with a solid foundation. The machine also has a huge hard drive capacity and a DVD burner.
  • Pros: Good manufacturing quality, Satisfactory WLAN reception range, Good speakers, The high-quality manufacturing and attractive design come together well. Toshiba did everything right here.
  • Cons: Reduced CPU performance, Dark display that covers a limited color space, Slow built-in Kepler chip, Warms to high temperatures, Toshiba could have gotten a lot more performance out of their hardware if they had designed an effective cooling system.

Toshiba Satellite L50-B-1DV review

TechRadar UK
2 October 2014
  • Summary: Toshiba's latest is a good looking mid-range notebook
  • Pros: Smart eye-catching design, Slimmer and lighter than rivals, Reasonable Core i5 processor, This is one of the slickest looking affordable laptops we've tested for some time. The cheap plastic and dull designs of rivals are banished by the Toshiba's red patterned materials, and the L50 is slimmer a...
  • Cons: The competition is quicker, Disappointing keyboard, Poor screen quality and resolution, That Core i5 processor might have the power for general computing, but both of the Toshiba's closest rivals have more under the hood – and Toshiba's own S50D uses AMD hardware that has a more capable graphics ...

ExtraHardware
10 February 2015
