Summary: I bought this laptop 3 years ago and have had quite a lot of problems. For some one who doesn't enjoy replacing laptops often and wanted something to last, this wasn't the laptop for the job and I have a year by year list of the problems below.
Summary: I have now had this laptop nearly twelve months and it does everything I want it to. Amazon customer service is first class and I have no complaints. Windows 8.1 is a big improvement on windows 8.
Summary: I bought this in December 2012 as a Christmas present. It worked well for a year but completely failed one year later, a week after it's guarantee ran out. Message "unable to find boot device".
Summary: Have been using for over 2 years now, and it is only just starting to slow down, mostly because of all the Windows/Acrobat/Flash player updates. The battery life is also greatly reduced (2-3 hours even if in 'energy saving' mode), but that doesn't matter too much as I am not travelling or commuting...
Summary: Bought this to replace a previous Toshiba Satellite (5 years excellent service).. What a disappointment - the Keyboard is very Flimsy feels like it will 'implode' with every Key Stroke. 'Windows' key failed to work after 3 weeks.
Summary: this is my second purchase of Toshiba laptops and simply the best--I cannot fault the item in any way--it is used every day-allday we are very pleased with ease to purchase the items on amazon
Summary: Nice looking machine just a pity in this day and age you can't select an operating system. Windows 8 is the pits unresponsive one minute running away from you the next. And to make matters worse you can't change the operating system for a different one Toshiba have you like it or lump it
Summary: I gave this laptop a 4 star mark because I've bought Toshiba in the past and did'nt find this quite so easy to get around. However after playing about with the different scrolls to access the screens found it was'nt as bad as first thought.
Summary: For those who use a laptop as a work tool Windows 8 is a step backwards as regards ease of use. The "apps" are of no use whatsoever and the version of Outlook is rubbish compared to Outlook Express. So Amazon, for the work user why is there no Windows 7 version??
