Summary: I got this for my son. Only a few problems with it. It got here in OK condition and worked fine. But in installing Linux on it for a dual boot system for him there was an issue as my Linux copy was damaged. In trying to remove the Linux it messed up the hard drive. The recovery partition was not a complete version and the repair disk I had burned when I first got it did not work and was in a foreign language.
Summary: I ordered this knowing it was refurbished, but it never booted. Damaged hard drive or something. The seller refunded me without hassle as quickly as possible, and I ended up going with a netbook instead. Here is the simple rule kids: when it comes to electronics, avoid 'refurbished'...
Summary: I would not recommend buying this computer. While it is fine for general internet browsing, the computer tends to freeze up which can be annoying. Additionally, the screws fell out of the bottom leaving the screen to flop and need to be propped up at times. I have had to use a 6 year old Sony laptop because of the challenges posed by attempting to do anything more than general internet browsing on the Toshiba.
Summary: I would recommend a Toshiba computer to anyone. The one I ordered was refurbished and it runs really slow. It was my understanding it would be just like brand new. The case looks great and so on, But the performance was a little bit of a let down.
Summary: I bought a one-year warranty with this laptop. After 6 months the hard drive died. When I called Toshiba, I was told that my warranty was expired. I contacted the seller, who said they would contact Toshiba. A few days later I asked for an update, and the seller said they would contact Amazon (not sure why). Still no response a week later, so I asked for an update within 24 hours.
