Summary: As far as Toshiba laptops are concerned, this one is very elegant. The fourth gen intel processor isn't exactly the fastest you can get, but the power savings achieved through the Haswell architecture is really beneficial, considering the laptop only comes with a 4-cell battery and not a 6-cell. Also, the touchscreen works really well; I don't notice any lag except when first booting up, but that's to be expected.
Summary: I just purchased this laptop and love it so far. Windows 8.1 is taking some getting used to and remembering you can touch the screen...so used to using a mouse for navigation all these years. It feel very durable so far.I read another review that say it doesn't have a cd/dvd drive. Mine has one but it blends in well.
Summary: I'd like to share my experiences buying a touch screen Toshiba laptop. The screen is EXTREMELY fragile, and Toshiba will NOT cover it in their warranty for any reason. Two months after I bought it, it developed a crack in the screen. It had never fallen or had anything bad happen to it. I always put the pink foam pad in between the keyboard and screen when I closed the laptop. My laptop was used by me only and underwent NO trauma.
Summary: Bought this laptop two days ago at another retailer for a little cheaper, but really enjoying the touchscreen. Also, it has windows 8.1 which is so much better than windows 8. This one is four times faster than my prior toshiba and it has a larger hard drive. My only complaint thus far is that I was not aware it did not come with a CD/DVD drive. Other than that, it works great.
