Review Toshiba Satellite C50D-A-10E Notebook

Notebookcheck
5 September 2013
  • Summary: Quad-core for the masses. We could not help but remain unimpressed by AMD's Trinity dual-core CPUs. But what about the Kabini quad-cores? And how much of a "real laptop" can be found in Toshiba's low-cost offering? Does the mainstream device exhibit unexpected strengths?
  • Pros: Quiet and cool, Decent keyboard, Low power consumption rate, Great battery life, Superb Wi-Fi reception, So silent, so cool, so economical. The C50D-A-10E can just keep running without ever drawing a lot of power. Seven hours of real-life usage time are quite a lot for a $530-device.
  • Cons: Strong bluish tint (display), Weak viewing angles, reflections, Low-quality touchpad, Cheap-looking plastics chassis without much torsion resistance, No Gigabit Ethernet, Horrible speakers, A better touchpad, more stability and better build quality as well as brighter, matte display.

Toshiba Satellite C50 review

TechRadar UK
10 March 2014

  • Cons: Boring design, middling battery life, slow hard disk, terrible audio, The C50D has one of the most uninspiring exteriors we've seen for some time: the entire machine is coated with black matte plastic, and the lid and wrist-rest are barely decorated with a plain lined pattern – even the Toshiba l...

Toshiba C50-A-156 review

expertreviews.co.uk
10 October 2013
  • Excerpt: The Toshiba Satellite C50-A-156 is a rather bland and unassuming-looking general purpose laptop, but as it costs less than £350 we can forgive a boring chassis. It's unashamedly plastic and, at 32mm thick, pretty chunky, but it looks smart and feels sturdy.

Techtree
3 September 2013
  • Excerpt: Windows 8 has given rise to an unexpected breed of computing devices that had probably never been envisaged when the new OS was being designed. • Pros: Large responsive touchscreen; Ergonomic keyboard; Price.
  • Cons: Poor display quality; Mediocre battery backup; Heavy.
