Review Update Toshiba Satellite C50-A-1JU Notebook

Notebookcheck
11 February 2014
  • Summary: Enduring and quiet. The Satellite C50-A-1JU is a basic office laptop based on a Bay Trail Pentium. The laptop for around 400 Euros (~$545) promises long battery runtimes, and good emission rates owing to the energy-efficient quad-core processor. Our test report reveals whether this is achieved in practical use.
  • Pros: Always operates quietly, Good battery runtimes, 24 month warranty, Low power consumption, The good battery runtimes, the two-year warranty, and the low operating noise.
  • Cons: Fast Ethernet only, Yielding plastic casing, Speakers' poor sound, Screen with bluish cast and low viewing angle stability, A stiffer casing and a brighter, matte screen.

Review Toshiba Satellite C50D-A-10E Notebook

Notebookcheck
5 September 2013
  • Summary: Quad-core for the masses. We could not help but remain unimpressed by AMD's Trinity dual-core CPUs. But what about the Kabini quad-cores? And how much of a "real laptop" can be found in Toshiba's low-cost offering? Does the mainstream device exhibit unexpected strengths?
  • Pros: Quiet and cool, Decent keyboard, Low power consumption rate, Great battery life, Superb Wi-Fi reception, So silent, so cool, so economical. The C50D-A-10E can just keep running without ever drawing a lot of power. Seven hours of real-life usage time are quite a lot for a $530-device.
  • Cons: Strong bluish tint (display), Weak viewing angles, reflections, Low-quality touchpad, Cheap-looking plastics chassis without much torsion resistance, No Gigabit Ethernet, Horrible speakers, A better touchpad, more stability and better build quality as well as brighter, matte display.

Toshiba C50-A-156 review

expertreviews.co.uk
10 October 2013
  • Excerpt: The Toshiba Satellite C50-A-156 is a rather bland and unassuming-looking general purpose laptop, but as it costs less than £350 we can forgive a boring chassis. It's unashamedly plastic and, at 32mm thick, pretty chunky, but it looks smart and feels sturdy. In keeping with its businesslike appearance, it has a matt display, with which means that you don't need to worry about reflections on dark screens or glare in brightly-lit environments.

Review: Toshiba Satellite C50-A I0110t Touchscreen Laptop

Techtree
3 September 2013
  • Excerpt: Windows 8 has given rise to an unexpected breed of computing devices that had probably never been envisaged when the new OS was being designed. While ideally fit for tablets, we are seeing an increasing number of laptops with touchscreens cropping up with some of them sporting screens exceeding 15". Toshiba had recently launched a huge line-up of laptops to replenish its rather dormant product segment in India.
  • Pros: Large responsive touchscreen; Ergonomic keyboard; Price.
  • Cons: Poor display quality; Mediocre battery backup; Heavy.

Test: Toshiba Satellite Pro C50 - levný pracovní základ s dobrým výkonem a matným provedením

NOTEBOOK.cz
8 November 2014
  • Summary: Toshiba Satellite Pro C50 je povedený levný pracovní notebook s úhlopříčkou 15,6“. Je vhodný právě pro ty, kteří hledají spíše klasický notebook s prostornou a dobře zpracovanou klávesnicí, přesným touchpadem, který nepřišel o samostatná tlačítka a s tichým provozem. To jsou totiž přednosti, které C50 má.
  • Pros: tichý provoz, pohodlná klávesnice a touchpad s vlastními tlačítky
  • Cons: nekontrastní zašedlý displej, nízká kvalita integrovaných reproduktorů
